Outside the City

The same standard. A broader scope.

Our Ranch Division is a natural extension of what Bean & Co. has always done: guide clients through the complexity of building with transparency, honesty, and a defined process. Beyond the city limits, that complexity grows considerably.

Ranch projects are rarely a single structure. The scope typically encompasses a primary lodge, auxiliary buildings, and the full utility infrastructure required to make a remote property truly livable. Every decision carries more weight when you're an hour from the nearest hardware store.

We've built on properties from 160 to 10,000 acres. The scale changes. The standard doesn't.

What a Ranch Build Entails

A complete property, intentionally designed as one system.

01

The Residence

The primary residence is designed to feel at home in its landscape. Timeless architecture, materials that weather beautifully, and interiors that balance refinement with the character of the land.

02

Auxiliary Structures

Beyond the primary residence, ranch projects often call for guest quarters, barns, and other supporting structures, each built with the same attention to form and function as the rest of the property.

03

Utility Development

Water wells, storage, filtration, and delivery systems. Septic treatment. On- and off-grid power. We design redundancy into every utility system so the ranch stays operational through any disruption.

04

Property Infrastructure

Access roads, culverts, and drainage systems protect everything else on the property. We coordinate civil and architectural work together so each decision supports the other.

05

Specialty Builds

Some of our most celebrated work has been one-of-a-kind structures, Timberlyne timber frame barns, a 150-year-old log cabin brought from the Northeast and given a second life. The kind of builds that define a ranch.

06

Phased Development

A ranch is rarely built all at once. We plan for the long view: utility infrastructure sized to grow, sites preserved for future structures, and a master vision that keeps every phase coherent.

Let's build something meaningful

When you're ready to take the first step, we're here. No pressure. Just a conversation about what matters most to you.
